Manufacturer of Fine Custom Cabinetry
Boasting that its products are manufactured in the country's most modern woodworking plants with state-of-the-art technology, Crestwood Inc. stands by its mission statement which reads, to be a "manufacturer of fine custom cabinetry and related wood products" and to be a "family of dedicated associates in partnership with kitchen and bath professionals whose common purpose is to exceed customer expectations in service, quality, and value."
Crestwood focuses solely on a business model that has promoted excellence since the company's inception in 1969. Based on market knowledge, the goal has always been to set itself apart from similar companies. One way of doing that is by including environmentally-friendly methods to its product line.
As soon as they could, Crestwood made the decision to be a front-runner partner with Columbia Forest Products by using products made with PureBond® formaldehyde-free technology. Bret Ferguson, who works in plant support doing research and development, said the company thought it was best to use PureBond® as a means to stay in step with the company's mission.
"We are always looking for ways to better our products," Ferguson said. "Whether that means making it easier for customers to breathe or providing the best product, we always want to keep the end in mind and the satisfaction of the customer."
Crestwood is proud to be certified by the Forest Stewdardship Council (FSC). Crestwood highlights on its Web site: "FSC® is a nonprofit organization that promotes the responsible management of the world's working forests through the development of forest management standards, a voluntary certification system, and trademarks that provide recognition and value to products bearing the FSC® label in the marketplace. FSC standards have been applied on more than 170 million acres of actively managed forests in more than 60 countries and growing steadily."
"We want to be part of the 'green' movement," Ferguson said. "It's what everyone's looking for. And with that, there is little or no added cost to the customer. So many times, you think better means it always has to cost more. PureBond® is a cost-neutral product. There's no price change when adding formaldehyde-free products. It's healthier for buyers and adds no extra cost. That's what we look at."
From humbled beginnings, Crestwood was created to fill a void in the Salina, Kansas area for high quality cabinetry and excellent service. At first, Crestwood concentrated on beautifying homes within a hundred mile radius of Salina, but is expanding to attract a national audience. Its growing facility currently consists of a 300,000 square foot state-of-the-art production facility, which accommodates almost 200 skilled associates, creating one of the country's most modern and innovative woodworking facilities. Crestwood continues to grow and is constantly refining their custom cabinet lines without losing sight of their philosophy of providing excellent service, quality and value.
